Surrey Park Football Club Awareness Match and Live Swabbing Event

AMM was thrilled to be welcomed to Surrey Park Football Club to present on the need to build and diversify the Aussie stem cell donor registry. As well as talking about Ned and the reason for us starting AMM, we also showed ‘Mark's Story’ which is a compelling video about how a stem cell transplant can save a life and the impact that has. It was a fantastic night and very well received. We really appreciated the focus and quiet attention from the men and women who were there. What a great community they have built at the footy club!

A few days later we ran our awareness day Surrey Park and as well as enjoying a huge day of footy, we had Live Swabbing to join the Australian Stem Cell Donor Register

We had 83 young people who swabbed and joined the stem cell donor registry!!! How good is that! That is 83 lives that potentially can be saved! A huge thank you to all those people who stepped up so enthusiastically and willingly.

Thanks so much to @surreyparkfc for hosting us, Aston Commercial for making the event happen and the guys from Tackling Leukaemia who ran the live swabbing event.

Thanks also to all the volunteers who came and assist…even in the pouring rain!
